June 1st,2009. The City Of Toronto's Municipal Code Chapter
604, Packaging bylaw requires that all retailers must charge a minimum
of 5 cents per plastic bag. In an effort to reduce waste, The Big Carrot is charging 10 cents.
Proceeds from the bags will be donated to a local charity chosen by our
customers. Please visit our ballot box by the exit doors.
June 1,2010. As per The City of Toronto BY-LAW No. 356-2009,the Big Carrot has switched to EcoLogo plastic bags. These bags contain a minimum of 20% post-consumer material of which at least 10% must be household post-consumer material.

After an overwhelming number of requests we have decided to continue our Big Carrot thermal bags which retail for $1.99 & tax.
The new versions of the bag are environmentally friendly (EcoLogo Certified Manufacturer), non toxic and made from recycled materials.
