Cathy Hayashi (RHN)
After graduating with a BA in Psychology and Sociology from U of T, my work experience has led me from the social service field to holistic nutrition and retail.
Due to my experiences working as a counselor with dual-diagnosis adults, I was able to see the impact of questionable nutrition and lifestyle habits on overall health.I worked with my colleagues to implement a more holistic approach through complementary health care protocols, which included balanced diet, homeopathy and other supplementation under the care of a Naturopathic doctor in conjunction with Allopathic methods. The effectiveness of this process inspired me to refocus my energies and I decided to study holistic nutrition from which I graduated in the year 2000 from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition.
Currently, I feel very blessed to be here at the Big Carrot as it gives me the opportunity to learn a great deal about the health of the planet through the store's active participation in environmental issues (such as the NON-GMO movement) as well as the health of humans.
Many of our customers find our store either through referral by their physicians, friends or family and they and are overwhelmed by their state of health.I find great joy in assisting people to discover simple and effective ways of creating greater health in their lives, physically and emotionally as well as spiritually.Through my work here at the Big Carrot and through my private practice using various forms of energy work, I am continuously reminded by how our mind and body work together to recreate better health. Even the most physically challenged people can improve their health through compassion, dietary support and environmental balance.
