Donation Guidlines

The Big Carrot is committed to contributing to our neigbourhood. We are proud to donate a percentage of our annual profits back to the community. We have a donation committee whose purpose is to administer cash donations to local non-profit organizations that provide on-going services within our community whose goals are consistent with The Big Carrot mission statement.

The committee works to support groups that not only reflect the diversity of our co-operative but also organizations that promote:

Co-operative Development, Organic and Sustainable Agriculture Practices, Community Projects, Environmental Preservation
Health Awareness, Social Justice, Human & Animal rights, Healthy Food Programs

If your non-profit organization is seeking a donation, please submit your donation request on letterhead,  describing your organization, goal of your project and how a donation from us can benefit your project. We limit one donation per organization in any calendar year. We do not sponsor or donate to individuals. Although most requests for support are very worthy, not all can be fulfilled.

In-Kind Donations

Fund raising local elementary schools and community groups who would like to request  food products, raffle prizes, Big Carrot gift cards or silent auction items, should submit  donation requests at least 4 weeks in advance. Please provide all pertinent information on your organizations letterhead including organization, address, date & time, reason for the fund raising event, approximate attendance, and contact information.

Sponsorships

Please submit your information package at least 2 months in advance.

All Donation requests must be either dropped off at our customer service desk, mailed or emailed. We will contact you upon review  of your submission. Requests by phone will not be accepted.
