Temporary Customer Service Representative ( 12 months) Danforth

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Customer Service Representative ( CSR) is to provide overall frontline customer care through clear communication with customers, staff, and the Department Manager, and to effectively deliver, as needed, one-to-one and group information in or a service capacity. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Customer Service Responsibilities

  • Excellent customer care in all avenues of customer interaction
  • Process customer requests (i.e mail outs, special orders, point card enquiries etc.)
  • Receive, stock, and face appliances/books/other department products
  • Following opening, closing and cleaning procedures
  • Identify and offer accessibility customer service assistance to anyone entering the building that has a visible disability; retrieve desired items or provide personal shopping assistance
  • Research and regularly update customer service knowledge of products, trends, and food issues as well as the store’s active projects
  • Completes all tasks as indicated by the Department Manager, Standards Coordinator and PR Coordinator as required (includes online and in-person outreach and standards projects)

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 year experience in customer service field
  • Training, knowledge and/or awareness of Canadian Organic Standards, genetically engineered organisms, and food security is an asset
  • Teamwork skills; good interpersonal, communication and social skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple demands.

Part time Cashier up to 32 hours/week, Temporary 4 months (Beach)

Job Summary

The primary function of the Cashier is to provide overall exceptional customer service for The Big Carrot by facilitating a pleasant shopping experience while processing transactions of customer purchases. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by interacting with customers in a friendly, familiar and efficient manner.
  • Perform all transactions as accurately as possible, keeping debit and credit receipts neatly placed in the sections provided. 
  • Ensure manufacturer’s coupons are examined and processed accurately
  • Process refunds as per Cash Department best practices.
  • Bag groceries neatly and efficiently if required.
  • Notify supervisor of any customer complaints and concerns, price discrepancies, and any equipment problems / tech issues that arise.
  • Update lost grocery file as necessary.
  • Return product and bottles to designated shelves when required.
  • Perform closing duties which can vary from trash disposal to general tidy up as directed by a Cash Supervisor.

 Requirements

  • Previous experience working with processing cash, debit and credit transactions an asset.
  • Enjoys working with customers and the public.
  • Remaining attentive, focussed, and calm in an often busy environment.
  • Detail-oriented and has the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Must have a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
